Jets Hope To Recover During Bye Week

Under Coach Herman Edwards the New York Jets are now 2-5 heading towards their week 8 bye. As a team, the Jets need to reevaluate their offensive strategy and use the weapons they have left. Curtis Martin is having a disappointing season but who came blame the running game when opponents know the Jets have lost two quarterbacks and no longer throw the ball deep. Hopefully we can count on the Jets to rebound after a weeks rest and come back with some intensity and desire to win. The Falcons Drive Past Jets in a Monday Night Matchup

It is very hard to win a football game when your quarterback fumbles the ball three times in the first half. Those fumbles led to 17 points for the Atlanta Falcons. The Jets lost 27-14 and dropped to 0-4 on the road throughout the season. Vinny Testaverde left the game late in the third quarter with a right achilles' injury. Brooks Bollinger took over for Testaverde and threw 12/20 passes for 94 yards. The Jets looked pretty bad but if you take away those three fumbles and the points that resulted from them, the Jets had some decent drives towards the endzone. Curtis Martin had little help from his offensive line and carried the ball 14 times for 28 yards and one touchdown. I am tired of watching the Jets turn over the ball this season and it is time for Herman Edwards to look for a more substantial quarterback to lead the Jets. Jets Change Lineup to Make Up for Loss

New York Jets head coach Herm Edwards announced Wednesday that 10-year veteran offensive lineman Pete Kendall would move from his familiar left guard spot to center. This results from losing ProBowl center Kevin Mawae who is out for the season with a torn tricep. Jonathan Goodwin, the Jets’ fifth-round selection in the 2002 NFL Draft, would fill Kendall’s vacated guard spot. The New York Jets will show this new lineup to the Alanta Falcons next week.

As for other injuries the Jets have this season:

Cornerback Ty Law is questionable with lower back spasms, and backup safety Oliver Celestin is questionable with a left knee injury. There was one bit of good news: linebacker Eric Barton should play after missing the last three games with a sprained ankle.

You may have noticed how many players on this team and other teams are getting injured this season. As the players get stronger and faster with every consecutive year the injuries add up and become more frequent. It is something that every team has to deal. A coaches true talent is shown when they most overcome this and inspire their players to win. To see who is injured on your team Click here. Keep on blogging!

The Jets Fall to Bills 27-17

The New York Jets dropped to 2-4 Sunday afternoon after being outplayed by the Buffalo Bills, which is their fifth straight road game loss dating back to last season. Curtis Martin led New York with a season-high 148 yards rushing and caught two passes for 3 yards, becoming the seventh player to gain 17,000 yards from scrimmage with a 41-yard run in the third quarter.

The Jets had difficulty containing a Bills offense that finished with a season-high 341 yards. "We couldn't find a way to eliminate the running game," linebacker Jonathan Vilma said according to ESPN.COM. The Jets also lost their ProBowl center Kevin Mawae to a torn left tricept. The Jets will look to rebound next week on Monday Night Football against the Falcons. Look here for the Jets/Falcons game release and more.

Vinny is Back

The New York Jets steal a win from the undefeated Tampa Bay Buccaners on Sunday in the Meadowlands. Newly acquired and long time ex-Jet, Vinny Testaverde led his offense on drives that resulted in 2 Curtis Martin rushing touchdowns.

Testaverde who is veteran for the Jets recharged their lacking offense and put some numbers on the board to beat the Bucs 14-12. The Gang Green defense looked phenomenal and held the Bucs to 84 yards rushing and an interception. The Jets are now 2-3, hoping to rebound their season as they head to Buffalo to play an important divisional game. For a ver inciteful preview of next weeks game Click Here and upload the Adobe file. Jets Continuing Their Rough Start

The Jets fell to 1-3 after losing to the Ravens on Sunday at M & T Stadium. Chad Pennington and backup QB Jay Fielder watched from the sideline after both of them tore their rotator cuffs last week. The Jets turned to 3rd string quarterback, Brooks Bollinger to carry them into Week 4 against a very tough and physical Ravens defense. Bollinger threw for 149 yards on 14/28 attempts while being sacked five times. Curtis Martin was held to a total of 30 yards on 13 carries. Newly signed backup QB Vinny Testaverde also watched from the sideline and has been working with the Jets to get back in shape and learn the new offense Mike Heimerdinger has planned for the 2005-06 season. The Jets will take on the undefeated Tampa Bay Bucs at the Meadowlands on Sunday, October 9th. Look here for a preview of next weeks game soon!
