It has been a really tough season for the Jets but beating the Raiders 26-10 was a highlight. Bollinger had a good game with 119 yards passing and one touchdown. Rookie Cedric Houston ran for 74 yards and one touchdown. Mike Nugent kicked four field goals throughout the game, the longest being from 35 yards back. The Green & White had a great day pressuring the quarterback as they totaled six sacks: John Abraham (2), Mark Brown, Lance Legree, James "Tank" Reed, & Bryan Thomas. Ty Law picked off his sixth pass of the season in the second quarter. The Jets head to Dolphin Stadium next week for a 1 pm. game that will air on CBS. Since New York is scared of getting over the actual goal line, Herm calls on Mike to finish the job. The Jets lost another game, seven in a row, 16-3 against the New England Patriots. Gillette Stadium played host to the Gang Green with a 4:15 kickoff time. Curtis Martin rushed for only 29 yards not to be outdone by Bollinger who threw for 135 yards and one interception. The game was played in cold weather as the Jets scored in the second quarter with a 38-yard field goal. Reggie Bush is now on the Jets radar with only four games left. The remaining schedule is as follows so stay tuned for the Reggie Bush hunt.

14,000 Yards for Curtis Martin

Sunday nights game was close one. Martin reached the mark with a great run, sprinting for a 23-yard gain. Unfortunately the New York Jets lost this one 21-19 but played very well. The season has been over for the Jets after week 4 but now we have new hope. It comes in the form of Reggie Bush. Head coach Herman Edwards has posted a 37-37 record as head coach of the Jets since taking over in 2001. Third-year QB Brooks Bollinger, who completed four of five passes for 26 yards, made his third career start for the Green & White. He left the game in the second quarter with a head injury and did not return.

When the Jets returned to the field, veteran QB Vinny Testaverde (15-25-152-2INT) took over offensive command in place of the injured Bollinger. Besides losing this game by 27 points, the stat that stood out in my mind was Curtis Martin running for 7 yards on 4 attempts. Even if we had Peyton Manning on the Jets, 7 yards rushing will not win games. The Jets played without the intensity they have shown in the past and I am looking forward to a top five draft pick come next season. Despite all the disappointing games this season I am still keeping up-to-date with my favorite sports team and if you want to, check this out!

The Jets Need Help!!!

Heading in week 10, the New York Jets showed they can play with the best after a close one with San Diego. Now it is safe to say, any win from now to the end of the season will be a surprise. The 30-3 score against the Panthers backs this up. So does a missing Wayne Chrebet, Kevin Mawae, Chad Pennington, and Eric Barton just to name a few. Injuries have plagued the Jets this season and it shows. Herm Edwards in my opinion is not to blame but something needs to be done. Maybe it's tightening up our running game or finding a QB with enough athleticism to run out of the pocket and make an accurate throw. I don't have it in me to write about the game so if you want all the stats you can click HERE! Be ready for the Broncos next week because that will prove to be an even harder game for the Jets in my opinion.

Jets Make It A Close One Against The Chargers

Herm and the Gang rumbled into the Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon after a weeks worth of rest. Refreshed from a week without playing a game, they looked to win against the San Diego Chargers and came so close. I don't think the Jets played to their potential but definitely showed that no team has an easy game against them. Brooks Bollinger went 11/20 and 106 yards with 2 TD passes. No too bad for a QB who hasn't played too many downs as a professional football player. The 3rd/4th string quarterback lead the Jets to within 4 points of the Chargers until time ran down and the Jets became 2-6 for the season. Every week I check the power rankings on ESPN.com and the Jets keep dropping. If you read the weekly ranks and feel depressed, your not the only one! I'm out for now but keep in check for new updates.

Jets Hope To Recover During Bye Week

Under Coach Herman Edwards the New York Jets are now 2-5 heading towards their week 8 bye. As a team, the Jets need to reevaluate their offensive strategy and use the weapons they have left. Curtis Martin is having a disappointing season but who came blame the running game when opponents know the Jets have lost two quarterbacks and no longer throw the ball deep. Hopefully we can count on the Jets to rebound after a weeks rest and come back with some intensity and desire to win. Those fumbles led to 17 points for the Atlanta Falcons. The Jets lost 27-14 and dropped to 0-4 on the road throughout the season. Vinny Testaverde left the game late in the third quarter with a right achilles' injury. Brooks Bollinger took over for Testaverde and threw 12/20 passes for 94 yards. The Jets looked pretty bad but if you take away those three fumbles and the points that resulted from them, the Jets had some decent drives towards the endzone. Curtis Martin had little help from his offensive line and carried the ball 14 times for 28 yards and one touchdown. I am tired of watching the Jets turn over the ball this season and it is time for Herman Edwards to look for a more substantial quarterback to lead the Jets. This results from losing ProBowl center Kevin Mawae who is out for the season with a torn tricep. Jonathan Goodwin, the Jets’ fifth-round selection in the 2002 NFL Draft, would fill Kendall’s vacated guard spot. The New York Jets will show this new lineup to the Alanta Falcons next week.

As for other injuries the Jets have this season:

Cornerback Ty Law is questionable with lower back spasms, and backup safety Oliver Celestin is questionable with a left knee injury. There was one bit of good news: linebacker Eric Barton should play after missing the last three games with a sprained ankle.

You may have noticed how many players on this team and other teams are getting injured this season. As the players get stronger and faster with every consecutive year the injuries add up and become more frequent. It is something that every team has to deal. A coaches true talent is shown when they most overcome this and inspire their players to win. This will be tough to accomplish with Chad Pennington nursing a sore shoulder as well as backup QB Jay Fielder who also bruised his shoulder during the game as well. The Jets retaliated in the 4th quarter to tie the game at 20-20 and send it into OT on the last drive.
